Job Description

The Paint Specialist is commercially responsible for selling the entire range of paints to contractors, architects, developers and (potential) investors within the market area, with the aim of achieving the highest possible return. He/she does this through intensive personal approach, support and advice to retail customers both inside and outside the store.

In addition, the Paint Specialist is particularly committed to sales efforts for the Benjamin Moore, Global Paint and Kooyman Paint brands with the goal of achieving the sales targets as described in the budget. In doing so, the Paint Specialist contributes to increasing sales, revenue, profitability and market share primarily for the Benjamin Moore, Global Paint and Kooyman Paint brands. The customer base of the Paint Specialist consists of existing Kooyman customers, but also of customers who he/she brings in through acquisition. The Paint Specialist ensures that Kooyman is “top of mind” with this specific target group when it comes to purchasing paint, paint tools and paint materials.

Requirements

• At least a Secondary vocational education diploma. A bachelor’s degree is a plus;
• Minimum of 2 years work experience in similar position;
• Excellent entrepreneurial and commercial attitude and experience with cold acquisition;
• Excellent knowledge of (use of) paint, paint instruments and paint materials (assortment knowledge);
• Affinity with building material and/or hardware retail branch;
• Good communication skills in word and writing.
