SOAB is well-known as the leading government auditor of the former Netherlands Antilles. SOAB has a first-rate reputation as an independent and objective advisory partner for the government.

On October 10th 2010 the Netherlands Antilles were dissolved. Both Curaçao and St. Maarten became autonomous countries within the Kingdom of the Netherlands. SOAB continued being the internal auditor for both countries, and started as the external auditor for the island of Bonaire. On Bonaire SOAB also audits several divisions of the Rijksdienst Dutch Caribbean (RCN). In addition, Aruba and Suriname are part of SOAB’s field of operation.

Independent government advisor
SOAB is a foundation with full private control. This structure ensures an independent position. It is of crucial importance to operate professionally and autonomously as advisors and auditors for government. Independence from the government is also guaranteed by the appointment of the Chairman of the Supervisory Board by the Governors of Curaçao and St. Maarten. Strict requirements apply for the members and the composition of the Supervisory Board.
